Restylane® and Perlane® are filler injections based on Hyaluronic acid gel, a natural substance found throughout the body. The gel is a crystal clear substance that binds the water in the skin and lifts up wrinkles or adds volume to lips. As the gel breaks down, it totally disappears from the body.

Who is it best for?
It is best for patients with facial frown lines requiring correction or lips requiring volume augmentation.

How long is each treatment?
Each treatment usually lasts for 30 minutes

How does it feel?
The injections may prick a little, therefore, topical anaesthesia may be used. For lip treatment, a dental block is required.

What are some after effects?
Redness, swelling, tenderness and an itching sensation of the treated area are some common after effects. They tend to be temporary and resolve within 1 or 2 days. A longer time for recovery is required for a lip treatment (usually 3-4 days).

How many treatment sessions are required?
Restylane® and Perlane® produce instant benefits and results that may last 6-12 months. Touch-up treatments are usually done within 6 to 12 months of the original treatment for wrinkle correction, and 4-8 months for lip augmentation.
