With the use of the Palomar StarLux^TM Pulse-Light System, patients can now achieve permanent hair reduction on all skin types quickly and comfortably. Compared to regular lasers, it can remove hair up to 10 times faster. With multiple contact-cooling handpieces for a variety of treatment options, the system works by emitting pulses of intense lamp-light into the hair follicles. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the follicles and converted to heat which then loosens the hair and disables the cells responsible for growing new hair.

Who is it best for?
It is best for dark hair in light-skinned people but can be effective for all skin types with pigmented hair.

How long does each session last?
The duration of treatment ranges from 15 to 90 minutes depending on the area treated.

How does it feel?
Patients usually experience a gentle "snapping" sensation when the handpiece touches the skin. Topical anesthesia may be used before treatment starts but is usually not necessary due to the superior technology of the StarLux^TM system.

What are some after effects?
